Boat Activities

Experience the waterways on our narrowboats. Narroway is a sixty foot long narrowboat based at Swinton Lock Activity Centre near Mexborough. The boat is used for educational and leisure day trips, residential and accredited Boat Handling courses .

We're also able to offer full and half day trips along the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation Canal to Rotherham and Sprotborough. Spirit is our latest edition, being a wheelchair friendly accessible boat, giving us the opportunity to offer trips to all groups of people. Children through to the elderly thoroughly enjoy the experience of taking control of the boat, learning to navigate the lock systems and just sitting back and relaxing while enjoying the beautiful wildlife along the way!

Suitable for private parties and coperate hospitality, it always promises to be a great experience. Trips cost £25 per hour for up to 12 people and can last from one hour to six hours, depending on the route you choose.

The crew are friendly, experienced and happy to help you make the most of your trip on the boats. They are fully qualified and all hold a current CCBM Certificate of Community Boat Management and CCC, Competent Crew Management. The crew have unrivalled knowledge of the local waterways and they will ensure you have a safe and interesting journey.
