Out of School Activity Club
As a result of a grant from Awards For All we have been able to work with a group of 50 children, most with low self-esteem, confidence issues or disabilities. Groups are kept small, approximately six to eight students at a time and split into age groups of 7 - 9 years, and 9 - 12 years.
The aim is to address social issues affecting the environment and society in which we live today. At the same time the sessions of two hours are fun and interactive while still being informative. We cover issues such as Arson, Water Safety, Personal Space, Internet Safety, Healthy Eating and much more. Working with various forms of Art therapy the children take home a piece of work each week.
As their confidence grows the older children are given the opportunity of joining our Young Volunteers Group, going on to assist others and taking courses in Customer Care and other appropriate skills.
The groups are very noisy, messy but great fun. A few places remain so if you are interested, please contact us on 01709 578778.
