The Engagement Officer will have a key role in engaging directly with children and young people through a range of services provided by Swinton Lock. You will inform, support, guide and work with a range of children and young people through our various services and work alongside the Children and Young People’s Services Manager to help deliver our various programmes of work.

With a passion for empowering children and young people you will be educated to or have direct relevant experience of youth work, working with children and young people and delivering 1-1 support and/or group sessions.

You will have a good understanding of Safeguarding children and young people and roles and responsibilities within it, plus comprehensive knowledge of working with professionals to support vulnerable children and young people.

Being able to communicate effectively with children and young people is vital for the successful candidate as you work with them on a daily basis to enable them to re-engage into learning and achieving. You will be the ‘Voice’ of their views on a wide range of topics. You will be able to work on your own initiative, organising and prioritising your own workload to changing and often tight deadlines.

You will be a ‘Team’ player and have excellent skills of working within a team and have a ‘Hand’s On’ attitude.

You will work flexibly to meet the need of the children and young people’s services and at times be able to support other services delivered within Swinton Lock.
