Swinton Lock Activity Centre is a small charity set in a unique environment beside the South Yorkshire navigation canal in Swinton. Its small, multi-skilled team, delivers a range of work to support young people, adult survivors of abuse and their families, as well as providing classes accessible by the local community in art and pottery. Swinton Lock Activity Centre also owns two boats, a narrowboat used for training in boating skills and a wide-beam fully accessible boat which is used as a hire boat for community boat trips and private hire trips. In addition to this work Swinton Lock Activity Centre offers opportunities for volunteering on our boats as well as fundraising activities.
What will you be doing?

Our Trustee meetings are held each month, but we are working towards these being held every other month at our premises in Swinton.
Trustees are also able to join specialist sub-groups as and when required which would mean additional time commitment.
