A Big Thank You
News / Oct 17, 2022
Busy garden renovation day today. The pond and rockery are almost complete! Although we may have underestimated the amount of soil needed... 😢
Many thanks to: "other" Sam, Carmen, Hannah, Cohen & Kaiden so far this week for their hard work. Cohen apparently became the hulk and lifted some massive boulders alone 💪.
Men in sheds were hard at work when we left. Have a great rest of the week! More updates to come 💙 ... See MoreSee Less

We've had a hectic week at Swinton lock. The base of the pond has been built. The rockery foundation is almost complete. Our herb garden is almost complete. We had a boat trip to support be-friend, men in sheds were hard at work and we had an aspire group who created lots of tasty cooking. Our ladies group created some art from glass and our youth club fed 50 young people.
As always massive thank you to the staff who work hard every day to support our community and cause: Jayne, Paul, Phil, Georgie, Rebecca, Malachite and Sam.
Volunteers today:
With thanks to grounds volunteers: "other" Sam, Ernie, Cohen (who was roped into gardening) and Hannah.
With thanks to our boat volunteers: Michael, Roger & Amanda
Without our volunteers Swinton lock would not be able to function.
See you next week and have an amazing weekend. ... See MoreSee Less

Happy Friday!
Swinton Lock Activity Centre would like your help. We're looking for some donations to help with upcoming projects. As you'll have seen we are creating a new garden area and pond. Our next phase is creating a community garden area to combat loneliness, isolation, promote exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
We're in need of some plants, flowers, shrubs and herbs for our community garden project. We'd also appreciate some planters, garden furniture and garden decorations.
As ever we'd also like some support from the local area.
If you can help or you know someone who would benefit please call Sam on 01709 578778. ... See MoreSee Less

Ive a few planters il get a few plants aswell
If someone can come and have a look in my garden… there is a bed of shrubs which I have grown for someone, they never took them… if they are any use, they are yours.

Massive thank you to volunteer Andy for coming to help Sam with the garden pond renovation. Without volunteers our projects would not be possible. We've got great plans for our car park space with a new nature pond, rockery, lavender garden and a special mental health safe space in progress.
With thanks to Georgie, Ernie & Phil too for their efforts today. As ever our staff and volunteers give 110% to Swinton Lock Activity Centre
