#ThrowbackThursday #ThankfulThursday

Last week we welcomed the inspirational Roger Cheetham to deliver his Survive Strive Thrive session to a small group of young people on our re-engagement programme. Roger is a multi award winning speaker on resilience, he sadly was a victim of a horrific crime ‘attempted murder’.
Our young people really enjoyed the session and asked lots of questions, they also completed a AQA “Building Resilience in Own Life". We are looking forward to welcoming Roger back in the near future. #ThankYou #SurviveStriveThrive #resilience

Good Morning, our lovely volunteers have decided to put on a Community Boat Trip day during the Easter holidays on Wednesday 12 April 2023. These trips are 1 hour which includes embarking and disembarking.

The event is now live on our website and can be booked by going to www.swintonlock.org and clicking What's On. Each ticket is £6 and everyone going on the boat irrelevant of age will need a ticket.

We are also going to open up our gallery space on the day for refreshments, we hope this will prove popular enough for it to become a regular feature of our events.

Please note no alterations can be made to tickets once booked.

We look forward to seeing you on the day!

Very busy day volunteering today , was asked this morning if I would help clear leaves up and tidy the back garden before it snows and to get it looking nice ready for Easter when the Bunny arrives to do our boat trips.
Lots of hard work, Ernie helped out a little though …. Now ready for a little afternoon nap 😴

I have spent a few days in centre supervising the work of our volunteers who are fully replacing our pond, looking forward to welcoming children to do some pond dipping and sitting alongside those that need a quiet space to sit, next stages, planting flowers and shrubs, placing a new bench and erecting a water feature … roll on springtime, volunteering is hard work but that chicken 🍔 was worth it
