Welcome to
Swinton Lock

Swinton Lock Activity Centre is a trusted safe space, committed to delivering emotional, social and wellbeing services, which are community led.

We are based adjacent to the South Yorkshire Navigational Canal and own two narrow boats, one of which is fully accessible. Both boats are used to offer boat-handling courses, volunteering opportunities and pleasure trips to both children and adults.

Had an amazing day at Swinton Lock Activity Centre. Rotary International funded our newly extended men in sheds space.
We had a visit from Rotherham Mayor and Gina Monk, Ken Wyatt, Victoria Cusworth - Labour and Co-op Cllr for Kilnhurst and Swinton East to cut the ribbon.
Thank you to everyone who attended, we appreciate your support and time. As you may know our men in sheds male support group is extremely important to us. Male suicide is on the rise and people struggling rely on our support services, especially those in Yorkshire. Remember that it's Ok not to be OK and there is support available.

fantastic service and a great support to many 🥰At Thrive we support young people that require the use of overhead tracking and hoists to be able to meet their needs.

We currently access the following places due to their facilities that enable our young people to experience fun filled days out, and be supported by our staff to have their needs met whilst there.

- The Deep Hull
- Eureka
- Meadowhall
- Barnsley Town Centre
- Magna Science Adventure Centre
- Yorkshire Wildlife Park
- Clifton Park

If there's any more accessible places out there with hoists in the South Yorkshire area, please tag away 💚
