Swinton Lock Activity Centre is a trusted safe space, committed to delivering emotional, social and wellbeing services, which are community led.
We are based adjacent to the South Yorkshire Navigational Canal and own two narrow boats, one of which is fully accessible. Both boats are used to offer boat-handling courses, volunteering opportunities and pleasure trips to both children and adults.

Our location, facilities and ample parking also make Swinton Lock an ideal location for meetings, conferences and parties.
Boat Trips & Training
Join our experienced crew for a relaxing cruise along the canal. Learn how to skipper the boat and manage locks.
Open Days
We also hold regular open days where you can come to meet the staff and sample many of the activities we have to offer.

The big reveal….
As you may have seen, we have had the Century Cladding team in last week giving our beloved centre a makeover.
The team were fantastic, they couldn’t do enough for us. We are very thankful to the team and Pete, for going above and beyond to ensure our centre looks clean, fresh, and is safe for its purpose, of delivering and hosting community events as well as keeping its daily activities going. This all enables us to continue our services to Swinton and the wider community.
The work was carried out to a very high standard and surprisingly quickly to ensure minimal disruption, the century team left the site immaculate.
We also want to say a massive thank-you to The Sign Lab for supplying our brand new signs which are the cherry on top of the new look centre!
Proving community spirt lives on they both did this for free, to give back to Swinton and their local areas.

We cannot thank Century Cladding enough for the support to our charity who did this work for us free of charge, which was an absolute health and safety must, this has ensured the work with our children, adults and volunteers can continue, but also a shout out to our amazing staff member Stevie Carr who made the magic happen for us.
Thank you Century Cladding for investing your time into Swinton Lock Activity Centre and your local community ! It take a village they say … it certainly does , but it also takes care,kindness, and generosity 💕💕 thank you all so much and can’t wait to invite our community for our open day in August xx

Sneak-peek…..Today has been a busy day at the centre, where we have had the Century Cladding team down working on our building.
Pete and his team have been fantastic in every aspect, from the designing and organising, to the execution of the work.
The whole team were highly professional and worked tirelessly throughout the day, facing every kind of weather.
They will be back tomorrow to finish of the job for us, when we will be able to release pictures of the new look centre.
