Are you or someone you know having a period of feeling lonely, down, stressed or completely alone and isolated? Are you suffering with mental ill-health? Do you wake up every day thinking "I can't do this anymore" or wish you weren't here? Have you or they had suicidal thoughts? Are you struggling from a recent bereavement or period of physical ill-health or a recent operation that's left you disabled? Are you suffering from post addiction or current addiction with nowhere to turn?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions then you are not alone. Did you know that over 49% of men suffer in silence with over 29% of men thinking they're unable to share these thoughts or they're too embarrassed and a further 20% say there's a stigma attached to mental ill-health in men. The figures in a recent poll showed 79% of men will suffer in silence. And did you know these figures are higher in Yorkshire?

Swinton Lock Activity Centre run a mental health support group for men. This is a safe space where you can share and be around other people who have the same issues.
Our group runs on a Friday and Sunday 2:30 till late. They work on joinery and woodworking skills whilst supporting each other.

If you have any questions or would like to join please call 01709 578778 and ask for Sam or email Sam.roberts@swintonlock.org.uk

We received a lovely note from one of our food bank users.

We've had lovely weather at Swinton Lock this week. The wreaths were made by our adult support group. Some lovely pictures of the volunteers Andy, Liz, Rob & Roger who have crewed the boat for our community boat day and mental health event. Special guest appearance of Oliver the therapy dog.

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend. 💙
